As those of you who have had my classes know I periodically enjoy ruining (okay not really ruining but explaining) cherished childhood stories, movies, and cartoons. Historic election

Good afternoon, I caught a significant portion of the Dem convention and the GOP convention starts tomorrow. All the pundits tell us this is an historic election. With a black man on top of the Dem ticket and a woman having the vp slot on the Rep side it does seem to be historic. Certainly worth watching. Continue

Welcome to the new year

Academics can be funny in a way because of the way we plan our year. We're running around trying to get ready for the new year while the rest of the world is in the dog days of summer. Still, despite being bummed that summer is winding down I'm pumped that a new school year is about to begin. I confess I've been watching a fair amount of Olympics.
